Jamie Clayton Spano

Jamie Clayton Spano, LE, is a licensed medical esthetician, certified electrologist, certified laser technician, licensed makeup artist, Allergan Medical Institute Faculty Trainer, CoolSculpting National Trainer, and the founder and CEO of Bare Medical Spa + Laser Center in Burlington, Vermont. What started in 2012 as a one-room laser hair removal operation under a stairwell on St. Paul Street has grown into a 12,000-square-foot practice occupying the entire seventh floor of 100 Bank Street, with 12 treatment rooms overlooking Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks, a staff of 16 that includes a Medical Director, three Registered Nurses, a Nurse Practitioner, a Physician Assistant, four estheticians, and multiple laser technicians, and a client base of roughly 24,000 patients served annually.

Bare has been voted the number one medical spa in Vermont four years running and is the number one CoolSculpting provider across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, having completed more CoolSculpting treatments than any other provider in the tristate area. The practice offers more than three dozen treatments and technologies, ranging from CoolSculpting Elite and EmSculpt Neo to Fotona SP Dynamis dual-wavelength laser, Morpheus8, Fraxel, CO2RE Intima, cosmetic injectables, chemical peels, microneedling with PRP, sclerotherapy, IV therapy, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, medical weight loss programs, and intimate wellness services.

A Vermont native, Jamie did not start in aesthetics. She began her professional career in accounting and human resources before making the decision to pursue what she actually cared about. She studied to become a licensed esthetician, electrologist, and laser technician, and opened Bare with a handful of clients offering only laser hair removal. Her client base doubled every year she was in business. While other practices scaled back or closed during the pandemic, Bare thrived and expanded. In 2022, she moved the practice into its current flagship space, a facility designed to feel more like a boutique hotel lounge than a clinic, with brass fixtures, suede couches, floor-to-ceiling glass, and potted palms flanking the waiting area.

Jamie is a certified Allergan Medical Institute Faculty Trainer and CoolSculpting National Trainer, and she travels across the country to educate and train other providers on advanced aesthetic techniques and CoolSculpting protocols. Her spa director has said that Jamie's success comes from having her finger on the pulse of an industry that is constantly changing, and that she is always among the first to bring new technologies and treatments to Vermont.

She has been featured in Seven Days, Best of Burlington, and the Georgia Business Journal. She holds active Vermont licenses in medical aesthetics, laser services, electrology, and makeup artistry. She lives in Essex, Vermont with her family.
