What EAG Verified Means
Our methodology, scope, and the honest limits of independent verification.
When you see the gold EAG Verified checkmark on a provider’s profile, it means Elite Aesthetics Guide has independently confirmed the credential(s) shown next to it, against the issuing body’s own record, on a specific date. It is a fact statement, not an endorsement.
Our methodology
Verification happens in one of two paths:
- License verification. The provider uploads a photo or PDF of their license. We strip identifying metadata, compute a cryptographic fingerprint of the file, and run the image through an AI extraction step to pull the name, license number, license type, and issuing state. In parallel, we fetch the public lookup page for that license from the state board the provider identifies, and compare the name + license number we extracted from the document against the name + license number the state board lists. If both sources agree and the license is active, the badge is issued. If anything is ambiguous, a human reviewer makes the call.
- Education, certification, and advanced-training verification. These don’t have a universal public registry, so we verify document-only: the provider uploads a diploma, certificate, or training record, and our AI extraction checks that the printed name matches the provider’s profile, the issuing organization matches what the provider claims, and the date is internally consistent. Ambiguous cases route to a human reviewer.
Every verified credential includes, on the public page: the name of the source we verified against, the date of verification, and a link you can click to confirm the underlying record yourself.
What the badge does NOT mean
- It is not a recommendation. We are not vouching for the quality of the provider’s clinical work.
- It is not a guarantee of results. Individual outcomes vary.
- It is not a malpractice or disciplinary background check. We verify that the license exists and is listed as active. We do not adjudicate complaints against the provider.
- It is not insurance coverage confirmation. Patients should confirm carriers directly.
- It is not permanent. Status is accurate as of the verification date shown. License status can change between checks.
Independence & compensation
Providers do not pay for the EAG Verified badge. There is no accelerated path, no priority review tier, and no paid-upgrade option to obtain it. Verification eligibility is not tied to advertising, listing fees, or any other commercial relationship a provider may have with Elite Aesthetics Guide. Every provider submitting is evaluated by the same methodology under the same thresholds.
Re-verification
Verified licenses are automatically re-checked against the state board on a quarterly schedule. If a license lapses, is suspended, or changes status between checks, the badge is revoked and the provider is notified.
In addition, any member of the public can request a re-verification at any time using the “Request re-verification” link on a verified provider’s page. These requests are reviewed by our team and, when received at scale, trigger an automatic re-check ahead of the normal quarterly schedule.
How to report something you believe is inaccurate
If a verified credential appears to be incorrect, or if you are the provider shown and you would like the badge or specific credential removed, use the “Request re-verification” link on the provider’s page, or contact our team directly.
Your data, if you request re-verification
When you use the re-verify form, we store the provider you named, an optional email address you provided, and a salted fingerprint of your IP address for rate-limiting. We do not store your raw IP. We do not share your email with the provider. Records of re-verify requests are deleted after 90 days.
