Melissa Odum

Melissa Odum is a licensed esthetician, entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of Queendom Aesthetics in New Orleans East, Louisiana. Known as the "Fairy Godmother of Skincare" and "Million Dollar Melissa," she started making homemade soap in her kitchen in 2015 to treat her own and her four children's eczema after years of unsuccessful prescription medications. What began as a hobby became a business that now operates out of a 5,000-square-foot location on Bullard Avenue in New Orleans East, making Queendom Aesthetics the largest Black-woman owned vegan holistic wellness spa in Louisiana. Her business has brought in $1.7 million between spa services and her plant-based skincare products, which ship to over 35 countries including Canada, Australia, Europe, and Africa. She has over 80,000 Instagram followers and a cult following for her products. She opened her first spa in 2017 at Dorgenois and Canal after attending esthetician school, then expanded to her current location in 2019. She has been featured on WWL-TV (CBS New Orleans) and Strut in HER Shoes. She specializes in plant-based, vegan, and organic skincare formulated for dark marks, acne, hyperpigmentation, eczema, and psoriasis, with a focus on melanin-rich skin. She offers facials, dermaplaning, corrective treatments, full body exfoliation, teeth whitening, and her own manufactured skincare product line.
