Vito C. Quatela

Dr. Vito C. Quatela, MD, FACS, is a double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and the founder of the Quatela Center for Plastic Surgery in Rochester, New York, which he established in 1992. He is certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. He grew up in Rochester, graduated from the University of Rochester, and earned his medical degree at Northwestern University. He completed facial plastic surgery fellowships at Oregon Health Science University and Tulane University. He is a past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (2007) and the current president of the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Rochester, where he has trained residents and medical students for over 20 years, and runs one of the most esteemed AAFPRS fellowship programs in the country, having trained over 20 fellows since 1995. He is considered a pioneer of modern deep plane facelift surgery and was among the first surgeons to perform the technique. He is also one of approximately five people in the nation to have written about deep neck contouring. He has performed over 3,000 facelifts and served more than 28,000 patients from all 50 states and more than 25 countries. He has been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, W Magazine, Los Angeles Times, and on ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS networks. He has delivered over 100 medical lectures and authored numerous journal articles. He founded the HUGS (Help Us Give Smiles) Foundation, which organizes annual medical missions to countries like Vietnam, Guatemala, and Ecuador.
