Brian S. Coan

Dr. Brian S. Coan, MD, FACS, is an award-winning, double board-certified plastic surgeon and the founder of CARE Plastic Surgery, Cary Surgery Center, and skinCARE MedSpa in Cary, North Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked alongside world-renowned Dr. Robert Langer in the largest biomedical engineering laboratory in the world. He earned his MD from the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine, completed a General Surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center, where he served his final year as Chief Resident. In 2019, he received his MBA from Kellogg Executive Education. He founded CARE Plastic Surgery in 2009. He serves as clinical adjunct faculty at both Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has been named Best Plastic Surgeon in Durham by Durham Magazine seven consecutive years and received the Maggy Award for Best Plastic Surgeon in Cary by Cary Magazine nine consecutive years.
