David E. Cowen

Dr. David E. Cowen, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist, ASOPRS fellow, and the founder of the Center for Oculoplastic Surgery & Aesthetics Skin Care in Lexington, Kentucky, established in 2000. He graduated with distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine (1988), completed his ophthalmology residency at UK, then two fellowships at the University of Toronto in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Craniofacial Plastic Surgery. He previously served as Director of Oculoplastic Surgery and Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky. He has treated over 200,000 patients including physicians and governors, and his practice extends to Eastern and Southern Kentucky communities. He was the first practice in Central Kentucky to offer Halo laser hybrid fractional technology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has 38 years of experience and travels on surgical mission trips to China, Haiti, Thailand, and Mexico. He also volunteers with Surgery on Sundays, providing free outpatient surgery to uninsured patients. He specializes in blepharoplasty, brow lifts, skin cancer reconstruction, Halo laser resurfacing, Botox, Dysport, Restylane, Juvederm, and aesthetic skincare.
