Maria Atkins

Dr. Maria Atkins, DO, is the owner and Medical Director of the Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England (CEC), the largest, most experienced, and most trusted medical aesthetic practice in New England, with locations in Portland, Falmouth, Scarborough, and Waterville, Maine. She holds a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and earned her DO from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (1993). She completed an internship at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital and a Family Practice Residency at Brighton Medical Center in Portland before turning her focus to medical aesthetics in 1996. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. The practice was originally founded in 1988 as Medical Laser Services and has grown under her direction into a 20,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility. She has been at the forefront of bringing advanced aesthetic technologies to Maine for over 28 years, incorporating multi-wavelength lasers, next-generation facial rejuvenation, and nonsurgical body contouring. CEC was among the first practices in New England to offer Clarius ultrasound technology for filler migration correction. She was featured on WGME's "Inside Maine's Best."
