Russell Babbitt

Dr. Russell Babbitt, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon, President, and CEO of Plastic Surgery of Southern New England, with offices in Providence, Rhode Island, and Fall River, Massachusetts. He specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, face, and body, with a special focus on breast implant revision, secondary cosmetic breast surgery, and facial reconstruction after skin cancer removal. A native of southeastern Massachusetts, he graduated from UMass Dartmouth (1999) with a degree in biology and received his MD from the University of Massachusetts Medical School (2003). He completed extensive surgical training and a two-year research fellowship focused on microsurgery, human anatomy, abdominal and limb reconstruction, and wound healing. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has been a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2023. He was nominated President of the New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in 2023. He has served on multiple committees within The Aesthetic Society and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Massachusetts Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is a Clinical Instructor in Plastic Surgery at UMass Chan Medical School and Site Director for the Aesthetic Surgery Clerkship. He is affiliated with St. Anne's Hospital and Southcoast Health. He has traveled the globe to provide volunteer treatment for individuals affected by cleft lip, cleft palate, severe burns, and congenital hand irregularities. His team includes PA Christina DeVincent, RN injector Brandi Whipp, and surgical technologist Cindy Albernaz (9 years with Dr. Babbitt).
