Ashley Emerson

Dr. Ashley Emerson, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and the founder of Solstice Dermatology and Medical Aesthetics in Jackson, Mississippi, which she opened in October 2023. Raised in Pascagoula, Mississippi, where she graduated as valedictorian of Pascagoula High School, she earned both a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Mississippi. She completed her medical degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 2013, her intern year at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and her dermatology residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, where she was named Chief Resident and received board certification in 2017. After residency, Dr. Emerson returned to UMMC as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology, where she participated in resident education and served as attending physician for the Resident Continuity Clinic, Surgery, and Cosmetic Clinics. She established Mississippi's only Pediatric Dermatology clinic and was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, becoming the only dermatologist in the state to receive this distinction. In 2019, she collaborated with the Department of Rheumatology to establish Mississippi's first Rheumatology-Dermatology Multidisciplinary Clinic. She was named to the Coast Top Doctors List for Dermatology from 2020 to 2022. She authored a chapter in the 4th Edition of Dr. Stephen Wolverton's textbook, Comprehensive Dermatologic Drug Therapy. She also developed her own medical-grade skincare line, Sol Skin MD.
