Brian D. Zelickson

Dr. Brian D. Zelickson, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and the founder of Zel Skin and Laser Specialists, with locations in Edina and Plymouth, Minnesota. A Minneapolis native, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in molecular and developmental biology from the University of Colorado, then attended Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. His post-graduate training included an internship at Hennepin County Medical Center and a three-year dermatology residency at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine. In 1990, he completed a fellowship in immunoelectron microscopy at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Zelickson is nationally and internationally recognized for his contributions to laser medicine and surgery. He has served as President-elect of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and holds a faculty position at the University of Minnesota Medical School's Department of Dermatology, where he also directs the department's Electron Microscopy Laboratory. He has authored more than 70 scientific articles and several book chapters, and holds over 15 U.S. medical patents, including patents licensed by Candela and Harvard's Massachusetts General Hospital. He has co-founded over eight medical device companies. He also developed MD Complete, a consumer skincare product line. Patients have traveled from more than 12 countries to receive his care. He has been named a Top Doctor by Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine for over 20 consecutive years.
