Daniel Medalie

Dr. Daniel A. Medalie, MD, is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and the founder of Cleveland Plastic Surgery in Beachwood, Ohio, at 25700 Science Park Drive, Suite 190. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University, studied art at Parsons School of Design and the Art Students League in New York, and earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College (now Weill Cornell Medicine). He was the first physician accepted into the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's integrated plastic surgery training program, completing six years of general and plastic surgery residency with two additional years of intensive research at Massachusetts General Hospital. He served as assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Cleveland (2002-present), Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Cleveland VA Medical Center (2002-2006), full-time faculty at MetroHealth Medical Center (2006-2016), and adjunct teaching faculty at the Cleveland Clinic (2006-2016). He has consistently been named one of the best plastic surgeons in America by Best Doctors, Inc. from 2009 to 2025, and has been named a Top Doctor by US News based on Castle Connolly surveys. He has received the People's Choice award continuously for 11 years and was voted one of the top plastic surgeons by Cleveland Magazine. He is nationally recognized for his expertise in gender-affirming surgery, having performed thousands of transgender operations since 1996, making him one of the earliest surgeons in the Midwest to offer comprehensive transgender procedures. He brings an artistic eye from his fine arts background to every case. He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion (2022) and a passionate photographer. He operates exclusively at Brainard Surgery Center.
