Daniel Murariu

Dr. Daniel Murariu, MD, MPH, MBA, FACS, is a double board-certified plastic surgeon at Athena Clinic in Honolulu, Hawaii. Originally from Romania, he earned his BA magna cum laude, MPH, and MD from Tulane University (where he was accepted into medical school as a sophomore through the Creative Premedical Scholars Program). He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Hawaii, plastic surgery residency at the University of Virginia, a microvascular reconstructive surgery fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and an Executive MBA in Healthcare from the University of Pittsburgh Katz School of Business. He is a pioneer in robotic-assisted plastic surgery and was among the first in the nation to perform DaVinci robotic breast, pelvic, and head and neck reconstruction. He served as Director of Microsurgery and Lymphatic Surgery at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh before returning to Honolulu. He is a Castle Connolly Top Doctor, TEDx speaker, and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. He founded the Daniel Murariu Foundation in Romania and is active in international charitable surgical missions. He speaks Italian and Romanian. He has performed over 25,000 procedures.
