Ian Wisecarver

Dr. Ian Wisecarver, MD, is a plastic surgeon and the lead physician at Renew Plastic Surgery & Dermatology, founded in partnership with South Peninsula Hospital in Homer, Alaska. He established the first plastic surgery clinic on the Kenai Peninsula and offers the full spectrum of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery to patients across the region. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Wisecarver worked in offshore oil fields in Louisiana and Texas for six years before pursuing a career in medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2018. He then completed an elite six-year integrated plastic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, a program consistently recognized as one of the top plastic surgery training programs in the country for its emphasis on rigorous clinical training and graduated autonomy. Dr. Wisecarver is board eligible with the American Board of Plastic Surgery and offers a comprehensive range of cosmetic procedures including facelifts, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, breast lifts, tummy tucks, liposuction, mommy makeovers, and body contouring, as well as reconstructive surgery for hand and limb injuries, facial trauma, and skin cancer. He has published research in leading plastic surgery journals including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Annals of Plastic Surgery. During his residency, Dr. Wisecarver made annual trips to Homer, where he fell in love with the community, ultimately inspiring him to bring world-class plastic surgery to the Kenai Peninsula.
