Joel Schlessinger

Dr. Joel Schlessinger, MD, FAAD, is a double board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon and the founder of Schlessinger MD and LovelySkin in Omaha, Nebraska, where he has been in practice since 1993. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1985, completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Alabama Children's Hospital in Birmingham, and then completed his dermatology residency at Barnes Hospital at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a former board-certified pediatrician. Dr. Schlessinger has been consistently voted the best cosmetic surgeon in Omaha since 1999, best dermatologist since 2011, and best medical spa since 2014, and the practice has over 1,700 five-star Google reviews. He is President Emeritus of the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery, past president of the Nebraska Dermatology Society, and founder of the Cosmetic Surgery Forum (CSF), a national conference. He personally performs all injectable (Botox and filler) treatments in his office. He is also the founder of LovelySkin.com, which started in 1999 and became the largest dermatologist-directed skincare website in the world with a reach of over one million customers. He operates the Schlessinger MD Skin Research Center, which has performed more than 270 clinical trials over 20 years. He has been named one of America's Top Docs, U.S. News Best Doctors, Best Doctors in America, and an Elle Beauty Genius award winner. He co-invented FixMySkin, the first body balm containing 1% hydrocortisone in a stick formulation, now patented in the U.S. and several other countries. He traveled to Haiti twice on humanitarian missions following the 2010 earthquakes.
