Joy Tao

Dr. Joy Tao, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist with advanced fellowship training in lasers and cosmetic dermatology at the Illinois Dermatology Institute in Hinsdale, Illinois. She earned her MD from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed her dermatology residency at Loyola University Medical Center. She then completed a prestigious cosmetic dermatologic surgery fellowship at the world-renowned Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York under the mentorship of Dr. Roy Geronemus, an internationally recognized leader and pioneer in laser and cosmetic dermatology. During her fellowship, she served as a sub-investigator on numerous clinical trials involving energy-based devices and injectables. She has lectured nationally and published extensively on a wide range of topics in medical and cosmetic dermatology, including picosecond laser treatments, pulsed dye laser for port-wine birthmarks, radiofrequency microneedling, and dermal microcoring. She is also affiliated with Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Affairs Hospital. She specializes in laser and cosmetic dermatology, energy-based devices, injectables, and advanced skin rejuvenation.
