Kathleen Makena

Kathleen Makena is a Licensed Esthetician and the founder of Makena Skin Care, a private facial studio located in the heart of Glenwood South in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, at 115 South St. Mary's Street. Established in 2012, the studio has been voted Best Facial in Raleigh. She became a Licensed Esthetician in 2005 after leaving a 14-year career with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts to pursue her true passion for skincare. She received her license at Design's School of Cosmetology in Paso Robles, California, and has continued her education with classes in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Hickory, North Carolina. She now works exclusively with Epicuren Discovery products because of the dramatic difference they make in skin health, and her studio is Raleigh's only authorized Epicuren retailer. She believes a facial should be calming and nourishing, and she customizes each treatment for the individual needs of the client. She does phone consultations before taking new clients to ensure the best experience.
