Melissa McFarlane, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is an internationally trained, NC Board Certified Nurse Practitioner Injector and the CEO and founder of Blossum Aesthetics Co., a modern medical spa in Raleigh, North Carolina, at 8480 Honeycutt Road, Suite 116. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Charlotte and her Master's from the University of Cincinnati. She began her nursing career in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit at REX Hospital, working critical care for three years before discovering her passion for aesthetic medicine. She opened Blossum Aesthetics and was booked out two months in advance within six months, with patients flying in from across the US. She has trained with some of the best in the industry including Arthur Swift (a pioneer of aesthetics), Sebastian Cotofana (world-renowned anatomist), Dr. Shino Bay, Dr. Sebastian Velez, and many others. She has developed her own proprietary lip augmentation technique combining elements from the Russian lip technique and the Julie Horne technique, solving the common problem of unnatural-looking results. She is renowned for her expertise in corrective work, skillfully dissolving improperly placed filler and optimizing results. She also teaches a 2-day Botox and filler training course, having trained providers from five states in private/semi-private sessions capped at three students.
