Robert A. Weiss

Dr. Robert A. Weiss, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist and co-founder and director of the Maryland Dermatology, Laser, Skin & Vein Institute (MDLSV) in Cockeysville, Maryland. He earned his BA from Columbia University and his MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (1978), completed his dermatology residency at Johns Hopkins, and pursued additional fellowship training in dermatologic research at the National Institutes of Health. He has served as President of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), Treasurer and President of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and Past President of the American College of Phlebology. He received the Ellet Drake Award for contributions to innovative laser procedures and products. He is a former Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins and currently Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Maryland. He is Fellowship Director of the ASDS cosmetic fellowship and serves on advisory boards for Allergan/Abbvie, Galderma, Cynosure, Lutronic, SkinCeuticals, BTL, and Alastin. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed articles and a dozen textbooks, holds multiple US patents for medical devices and biotechnologies, and has appeared on 20/20 and The Today Show. He has been quoted in Harper's Bazaar and The New York Times. He actively conducts Phase II and III FDA clinical trials. He co-founded MDLSV with his wife Dr. Margaret Weiss in 1984. He specializes in laser and energy-based treatments, sclerotherapy, endovenous ablation, Botox, fillers, non-invasive body contouring, photoaging treatment, and cosmetic dermatology.
