About Thomas A. Mustoe
Dr. Thomas A. Mustoe, MD, FACS, is a double board-certified plastic surgeon and the founder of TLKM Plastic Surgery in Chicago, Illinois, established in 2014. He graduated cum laude from both Harvard College (biology) and Harvard Medical School, where he received the Soma Weiss Award for best medical student research. He completed residencies at Massachusetts General Hospital, Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, and served as Chief Resident in plastic surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is one of the few surgeons nationally certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He served as Professor and Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University from 1991 to 2017, the youngest surgeon in the nation at the time to be appointed to such a position. He has performed over 10,000 operations and holds 4 US patents related to wound healing and anti-scarring agents. He is a pioneer of deep plane facelift techniques and has published hundreds of academic research articles and textbook chapters. He is an internationally sought-after visiting professor and lecturer. He has approximately 1,000 five-star reviews.
