Thomas E. Rohrer

Dr. Thomas E. Rohrer, MD, is a board-certified dermatologic surgeon at SkinCare Physicians in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and one of the nation's leading experts in both cosmetic and surgical dermatology. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University and earned his MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine (1989), receiving the Michael J. Caruso Award for humanitarian care. He completed an internship at Yale University Hospital, a dermatology residency at the combined Boston University-Tufts University program, and a Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery fellowship. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at Brown University School of Medicine. He was ranked among the Top Twenty Dermatologists in the US by Newsweek, the highest-ranking dermatologist in Massachusetts and the highest-ranking Mohs surgeon in the country. He is a Past President of both the ASDS and ASLMS, and has served on the Board of Directors of the AAD, ACMS, ASDS, ASLMS, and the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons. He received the Richard E. Fitzpatrick Clinical Research and Innovations Award (2013) and an Excellence in Education Award from ASDS. He is the editor of six cosmetic and laser surgery textbooks, including a best-selling reconstruction textbook. He has given over 500 lectures nationally and internationally and appeared on NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, and CNN. He speaks Spanish and Chinese. He specializes in Mohs surgery, facial reconstruction, laser surgery, neuromodulators, dermal fillers, energy-based devices, and cosmetic dermatology.
