Herluf G. Lund Jr.

Dr. Herluf G. Lund Jr., MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the President of St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery in Chesterfield, Missouri, one of the oldest and largest cosmetic surgery practices in St. Louis, founded in 1973. A native of St. Louis, he attended Washington University for his undergraduate education (also studying at Tufts University), earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine, completed a general surgery residency at the University of Texas at Houston, and returned to St. Louis for his plastic surgery residency at Washington University School of Medicine. He entered private practice in 1991 and merged with St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery in 1999. Dr. Lund served as President of The Aesthetic Society (the 2,600-member American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) in 2020, making him one of the most prominent plastic surgery leaders in the country. He also served as president of the Missouri Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the Washington University Medical Center Alumni Association. He has served as Councilor, Treasurer, and Secretary for the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society. He is a Castle Connolly Top Doctor, a member of the ASERF Board of Directors, and has served on the Executive Committee of The Aesthetic Society's Board of Directors. At Washington University, he was actively involved in research on the safety and design of breast implants. He has served as a principal investigator in studies on next-generation cohesive gel breast implants. His specialties include rapid recovery breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, facial rejuvenation, body contouring after massive weight loss, mommy makeover, abdominoplasty, liposuction, and fat transfer.
