Macrene Alexiades

Dr. Macrene Alexiades, MD, PhD, FAAD, FASLMS, is a dual board-certified EU-US dermatologist and PhD scientist who holds three Harvard degrees: a BA in Biology, an MD from Harvard Medical School, and a PhD in Genetics from Harvard University. She was a Fulbright Scholar, elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received the Fay Prize, the highest undergraduate honor at Harvard. She completed her internal medicine internship at Lenox Hill Hospital, her dermatology residency at NYU School of Medicine where she served as Chief Resident and won the Husik Prize for research, and served as Director of Research at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of New York from 2001 to 2003. She founded and directs her dermatology, laser surgery, and research center at 955 Park Avenue in Manhattan and the Hamptons. She is an Associate Clinical Professor at Yale University School of Medicine and an attending at Lenox Hill Hospital, Yale/New Haven Hospital, and Yale/West Haven VA Hospital, where she has donated voluntary services for over 25 years. She is a Diplomate of both the American and European Boards of Dermatology. She has authored two seminal textbooks, Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery (Wolters-Kluwer) and Photodynamic Therapy (Elsevier), and published hundreds of original peer-reviewed articles. She serves as Assistant Editor for Dermatologic Surgery and Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, and has chaired research for ASDS. She served as Dermatologist and Skin Care Expert for L'Oreal Paris and as Consulting Dermatologist for Lancome USA, and is the CEO and Founder of MACRENE actives skincare, sold in Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Sephora, and Goop. She was voted number 1 Dermatologist in the USA by Aesthetic Everything and has been a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2014. She received the Who's Who Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr. Brandt Innovator Award, and ASLMS Dr. Richard E. Fitzpatrick Clinical Research and Innovations Award.
