Munique Maia

Dr. Munique Maia, MD, is a Harvard fellowship-trained, board-certified plastic surgeon and the founder and Medical Director of Maia Plastic Surgery, located at 8100 Boone Boulevard, Suite 730, Tysons Corner, Virginia 22182.

Dr. Maia received her medical degree with Magna Cum Laude distinction from the Federal University of Ceará in Brazil (2009). She scored in the 99th percentile on her U.S. medical licensing exams. She completed a surgical internship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (2011–2012), an integrated plastic surgery residency at Northwell Health/Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra (2012–2017, serving as Chief Resident 2016–2017), and a prestigious plastic surgery fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School (2017–2018).

She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the Aesthetic Society and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. She has authored over 50 articles, abstracts, and book chapters in plastic surgery and received the Outstanding Paper Award from ASPS. She served as associate editor for a global collaborative plastic surgery textbook on neck rejuvenation. She has been featured in Vogue Magazine as an "Influential Woman of Washington," The New York Times, Forbes, Northern Virginia Magazine (Top Doctor), Washingtonian Magazine, and Modern Luxury DC. In January 2026, she opened Harmony Surgery Center, a purpose-built surgical facility in Tysons Corner. She is affiliated with Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, VHC Health, and Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.
