Dr. Aldea received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons (1983). He completed a surgery residency at Stanford Health Care (1983–1985), followed by a surgery residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/Beth Israel (1986–1991), and a plastic surgery residency at Duke University Hospital (1991–1994).
