Alton Ingram

Dr. Alton E. Ingram, MD, is a double board-certified cosmetic surgeon and the founder of Ingram Cosmetic Surgery, with locations at 2415 Atrium Way, Nashville, Tennessee 37214, and 210 Franklin Road, Suite 160, Brentwood, Tennessee 37027.

Dr. Ingram graduated summa cum laude from Yale University with a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy while completing a premedical curriculum. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a National Merit Scholar, and a William Randolph Hearst Foundation Scholar. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, where he was a Southwestern Medical Foundation Scholar and was one of three students nationwide to match directly into plastic surgery from medical school. He completed his plastic surgery residency at UT Southwestern (1990–1995), currently the number one ranked program in the country. He then studied under Ivo Pitanguy in Rio de Janeiro, completed craniofacial surgery training at the University of Paris under Laurent Lantieri, pursued a fellowship in breast and aesthetic surgery under Patrick Maxwell at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, and completed a fellowship in facial plastic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.

He is certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. He is a Trustee of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Section Editor of The American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, co-founder of the Cosmetic Surgery Safety Initiative, and co-founder of the BBL Safety Committee. He is the only cosmetic surgeon on staff at Nashville General Hospital, where he provides free reconstructive surgery. He has been named to America's Best Doctors. He has over 30 years of experience.
