Melinda Haws

Dr. Melinda J. Haws, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon and co-founder of The Plastic Surgery Center of Nashville, located at 1915 State Street, Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Haws earned her Bachelor of Arts in Life Sciences from Indiana State University (1984–1987) and her medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (1991). She completed a six-year combined general surgery/plastic surgery residency at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois (1991–1997). She then completed a breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery fellowship under G. Patrick Maxwell, MD, at Nashville Plastic Surgery. She also completed a hand and microvascular surgery fellowship at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where she subsequently served as Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery before returning to Nashville in 2002 to co-found The Plastic Surgery Center of Nashville with Dr. Mary Gingrass.

She is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (The Aesthetic Society), the Lipoplasty Society, and the Plastic Surgery Research Council. She is on the medical staff at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown and performs the majority of her surgeries at St. Thomas Midtown Surgicare. She has been honored with the RealSelf 500 award. She has published extensively on breast implant safety and has co-authored research on systemic symptoms associated with breast implants.

Her practice focuses on breast enhancement and body contouring, with special emphasis on helping women restore their figures after pregnancy or weight loss. She has a growing practice in gynecomastia correction for male patients.
