Michael Burgdorf

Dr. Michael R. Burgdorf, MD, MPH, is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the founder and president of Music City Plastic Surgery, PLLC, in Nashville and Brentwood, Tennessee. He founded the practice in 2012.

Dr. Burgdorf earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a linebacker on the football team. He received his medical degree from Tulane University Medical School while concurrently earning a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He began his general surgery residency at Tulane in New Orleans, training at Charity Hospital, where he received the Gage Teaching Award, the Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award, and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. After Hurricane Katrina interrupted his training, he completed his general surgery residency at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, serving as administrative chief resident of education. He then completed a residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Mississippi. He also trained at The Face and Body Center.

He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is affiliated with TriStar Centennial Medical Center, TriStar Stonecrest Medical Center, Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, and Williamson Medical Center. He has been in the top 5% of America's Most Honored Professionals since 2016 (top 1% in 2016, 2019, 2020) and received the 2014 National Doctor's Choice Award for Plastic Surgery and the American Registry Most Compassionate Doctor award (2011–2014). He is the author of two Amazon bestsellers: The Mommy Makeover and The Daddy Do-Over. He has appeared on The Doctors, HLN Morning Express, and in The Wall Street Journal and FoxNews.com.

He operates from a state-of-the-art 12,000-square-foot facility including the Nashville South Surgery Center. He has performed over 3,000 cosmetic procedures.
