Scott Thompson

Dr. Scott K. Thompson, MD, is a double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and the founder of Utah Facial Plastics, with locations in Salt Lake City and Draper, Utah.

Dr. Thompson earned his undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Arts, Piano Performance) from Utah State University. He received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and an internship in general surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, serving as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under Dr. Vito Quatela and Dr. Timothy Doerr at the University of Rochester. He has over 15 years of experience.

He is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. He is ISHRS Fellowship Trained in Hair Restoration Surgery. He has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2019. He has received the John D. Norante Outstanding Research Award and the 2014 Frist Humanitarian Award from Lakeview Hospital. He participates annually in medical missions to Ecuador treating children with congenital deformities.

Utah Facial Plastics has been recognized as Best of State (2023, 2025), Best of SLC, Best of Davis County, and a Salt Lake Tribune Top Workplace. The practice has an on-site operating room with Gold Standard accreditation.
