Tara Brennan

Dr. Tara Brennan, MD, FACS, is a dual board-certified Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon at Brennan Facial Plastic Surgery in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has been in academic practice at the University of New Mexico Hospital since 2015, serving as Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Facial Plastic Surgery at UNM, where she is the only Academic Facial Plastic Surgeon in the state. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois-Chicago in Biological Sciences and Psychology, earned her MD and the Top Medical Student Award from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2009, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society. She completed her Otolaryngology residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary and a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Lenox Hill and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospitals in New York. She has received the Exemplary Teacher Award at UNM School of Medicine in 2020 and 2021. She has given over 75 professional presentations or invited lectures nationally and internationally and has authored 27 book chapters and original research articles in facial plastic surgery, with active research grants in nasal reconstruction. In 2025, she also began practicing Otolaryngology at Aspen Valley Health. She has performed hundreds of complex rhinoplasties and reconstructive facial surgeries. Services include rhinoplasty, otoplasty, facelifts, facial reanimation and rehabilitation, vascular anomaly surgery, CO2 laser treatment of rhinophyma, and nasal reconstruction.
