David Stephens

Dr. David R. Stephens, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the founder of Stephens Plastic Surgery, located in Bellevue, Washington. He has been serving the Bellevue community for nearly 30 years and has over 40 years of experience in medicine.

Dr. Stephens earned his medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine (1984). He completed plastic surgery residency and a Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He served as Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at UAB (1990–1995) and completed a facial cosmetic preceptorship with Dr. Steven Hoefflin in Santa Monica, California, and advanced breast surgery training with Dr. Jim Grotting in Birmingham. He has been based in Bellevue since 1998.

He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (The Aesthetic Society), where he maintains committee and chair positions. He is affiliated with Overlake Medical Center & Clinics. He has been awarded "Best Cosmetic Surgeon" by 425 Magazine for ten consecutive years (2016–2025) and is a perennial winner/top-5 finalist of King 5 Best of Western Washington. He was recognized early in his career for pioneering endoscopic-assisted procedures and minimum-incision techniques. He was the first plastic surgeon in the Northwest to offer InMode BodyTite radiofrequency-assisted body contouring. His AAAASF-accredited surgery center is licensed for all levels of anesthesia.
