Grady Core

Dr. Grady Core, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the founder of Core Plastic Surgery in Birmingham, Alabama. He is widely recognized in the field of plastic surgery as one of the co-inventors of endoscopic (minimally invasive) plastic surgery, having co-developed the technique in 1991 and pioneered its applications in aesthetic procedures of the face, breast, and abdomen. Originally from Arkansas, Dr. Core earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1981. He completed his general surgery residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, an affiliate of Einstein University in New York City, and trained in plastic surgery at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He subsequently served as a Clinical Instructor in Plastic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and later as Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans before establishing his Birmingham practice in 1996. Dr. Core is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, a peer-selected honor society of approximately 300 members globally, as well as the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (The Aesthetic Society) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He was honored with the Jerome R. Voss Award by ASAPS in 2018. Dr. Core is the longest-practicing endoscopic brow lift specialist in the world and performs his signature extended deep plane facelift and neck lift technique, which has been shown to produce statistically significant improvements in neck angle. He also pioneered endoscopic breast augmentation techniques. His innovations are detailed in hundreds of textbook chapters, instructional videos, presentations, and research papers, and he has taught endoscopic techniques to plastic surgeons worldwide as an invited speaker at universities and meetings across the United States, Australia, South America, and Europe. He was named a Traveling Professor by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and has been selected for Best Doctors in the U.S.: Southeast Region. He lives in Vestavia with his wife, Heidi, and their three sons.
