Ira D. Papel

Dr. Ira D. Papel, MD, FACS, is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon at the Aesthetic Center at Woodholme in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Full Professor at Johns Hopkins University. He is certified in both Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He earned his BA from Johns Hopkins University and his MD from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and a fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has been in practice since 1987. He is an internationally recognized expert in rhinoplasty, performing 200 to 250 rhinoplasty operations per year with 50% being revision cases. He is Past President of both the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has over 100 publications and has served as a visiting professor at more than 40 universities across the US, Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia. He was honored by the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery for his academic contributions and named a US News & World Report Top Doctor.
