Jacob Unger

Dr. Jacob G. Unger, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the president and owner of Nashville Plastic Surgery Institute (NPSI) in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Unger graduated summa cum laude and as Valedictorian from Tulane University with Phi Beta Kappa honors. He earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine on academic scholarship, where his research helped form the scientific basis for the 3D modeling now commonly used in breast augmentation consultations. He completed the prestigious integrated plastic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, the number one ranked program in the nation, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident. He was named National Champion in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Resident Quizbowl in both 2012 and 2013, and received the Excellence in Research award. He then completed a fellowship in Paris, France, training under European visionaries in rhinoplasty, facial aesthetics, and breast surgery in France, Turkey, Sweden, and Belgium.

He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He serves as Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Vanderbilt University. He previously practiced with Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell at Maxwell Aesthetics. He invented the Natrelle Fourté expander fill system for breast reconstruction. He is affiliated with TriStar Centennial Medical Center and Ascension Saint Thomas.
