Dennis Hammond

Dr. Dennis Hammond, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon at Partners in Plastic Surgery of West Michigan in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and one of the world's most recognized authorities in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. A lifelong Michigander born in Saginaw, he graduated first in his class from high school and attended the University of Michigan for both undergraduate and medical school (1985), where he served as senior manager on the football team under legendary coach Bo Schembechler. He completed an integrated Plastic Surgery residency in Grand Rapids, a Hand Surgery/Microsurgery fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and an Aesthetic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery fellowship in Nashville. Early in his career he performed the first-ever conventional replantation of an amputated nose using both artery and vein. He is the author of "Atlas of Aesthetic Breast Surgery," a best-selling textbook recognized as the definitive "how to" guide in the field. He co-edited an influential textbook with Dr. Scott Spear of Georgetown University and has authored numerous scientific papers and book chapters. He serves as Associate Editor of "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery," the main scientific journal for plastic surgeons worldwide.
